Project Detail

Don’t be fooled by the size of this cottage.

What was once a meek and derelict four room structure is now a bold, 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with 2 living zones.

At Adelaide Property Renovations we love to restore and renovate an early 1900’s home as you never know what history they will reveal. This old gem was no exception, whilst removing the mantel piece for restoration we discovered a letter behind it from 1896 written in a script so beautiful and smooth it was like artwork.

It was important to the owner that we worked with the character the house already offered and bring back to life the elements in the original home that could be saved. The original floorboards were still in great condition so they could be polished but what sets this home apart is that for the extension recycled flooring was sourced to integrate with the existing floor perfectly. The result is a seamless and undetectable transition between the old and new.

A neutral colour palate of white, grey and timber will see this renovation remain timeless and classic. Although a vast extension it was kept simple with only an exposed brick wall and gas fireplace as features of the property.
